Group Finance Manager
Lead our APAC finance function across FP&A, accounting, payroll, credit control and business partnering. You'll combine team leadership with hands-on operational ownership in a growing business.
MGG Health is seeking a Group Finance Manager to lead our APAC finance function and play a pivotal role in the next phase of our growth.
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Services, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day leadership and performance of the finance function across Australia and New Zealand. Working closely with an experienced finance leader, you'll have the support and guidance of a seasoned executive while retaining responsibility for delivering strong financial outcomes, developing capability within the team and driving operational excellence across the function.
This is not a role for someone who wants to sit above the numbers. You'll be expected to roll up your sleeves, challenge assumptions, review models, solve problems and work closely with the team across FP&A, accounting, payroll, credit control and commercial finance.
With responsibility for five core finance disciplines and a mandate to modernise systems, reporting and processes, you'll have the opportunity to shape and strengthen the finance function across one of the fastest-growing healthcare workforce businesses in Australia and New Zealand.
At MGG Health, our values guide everything we do:
We Trust. We Care. We Celebrate. We Open Doors.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious finance leader seeking a genuine second-in-command role, with broad exposure across FP&A, business partnering, accounting, payroll, credit control and strategic decision-making.
If you're an experienced finance professional who enjoys developing teams, driving operational excellence and taking ownership of business outcomes while remaining close to the detail, we'd love to hear from you.
Partnering closely with the Director, Corporate Services to support financial planning, business performance, reporting and transformation initiatives across the organisation.
Leading and integrating the full finance function across FP&A, business partnering, credit control, payroll and accounting.
Taking ownership of the day-to-day performance of the finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls, effective cash management and high service levels across the business.
Balancing leadership responsibilities with hands-on execution, remaining close to the numbers, systems, controls and operational finance activities.
Owning annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, long-range planning, financial modelling and management reporting.
Partnering with operational, commercial, sales and recruitment leaders to drive profitability, margin performance and informed decision-making.
Leading the credit control function to optimise cash collection, reduce DSO and strengthen working capital performance.
Overseeing accurate, compliant and timely payroll and pay-billing across all AU and NZ entities.
Owning month-end, year-end and statutory reporting, balance sheet integrity, audit management and financial controls.
Driving finance transformation initiatives across ERP, Salesforce and Power BI, delivering automation, efficiency and reporting improvements.
Building, developing and inspiring a high-performing, accountable and engaged finance team.
What will you bring to the role?
CA or CPA qualified, with a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
Significant senior finance leadership experience spanning multiple finance disciplines.
Demonstrated experience leading FP&A, accounting, credit control and payroll functions.
Strong technical accounting, reporting, compliance and financial controls expertise.
Advanced financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting and business performance analysis capability.
Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively across the business.
Proven ability to partner with executive leaders and operational stakeholders to drive commercial outcomes and support strategic decision-making.
A genuine player-coach leadership style, equally comfortable presenting financial insights to senior leaders, building financial models, reviewing reconciliations and supporting the team through critical delivery periods.
A hands-on approach and genuine enjoyment of operational finance leadership, with a willingness to remain close to the detail while maintaining a strategic perspective.
Demonstrated experience identifying opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls and enhance financial performance across the business.
Experience leading teams within fast-paced, high-growth environments where adaptability, accountability and practical execution are highly valued.
A commercially minded and pragmatic approach, with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Experience supporting board reporting, audit processes, banking relationships and executive-level decision-making.
The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment where adaptability, accountability and initiative are highly valued.
